It seems that WWE will expand its reach in the world of sports following the signing of an agreement for licensing over a period of several years with the NFL in August of this year. The two companies negotiated a deal for WWE to develop NFL-inspired WWE championship belts from the past.
Previous success
The belts sport authentic colors as well as logos that of the 32 clubs. They’re they are available on NFLShop.com, WWEShop.com, and Fanatics.com. This is a huge gain for WWE since it is the first ever licensing agreement between both organizations.
Then, WWE is looking to duplicate that at the university level by negotiating a deal with The Big 12 conference. While it is true that the Big 12 will lose its two largest colleges next year, to the SEC which is located in Oklahoma and Texas but they will have major schools like Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State as well as Texas Tech.
The deal
WrestleVotes reports that WWE and the Big 12 are close to negotiating an agreement that will permit WWE to manufacture authorized Big 12 merchandise just in time for the bowl game coming up in the month of March. This agreement could also open the way to other conferences like that of the SEC as well as the Big Ten.
