Expanding on the topic in the same interview, the WWE Hall of Famer delved into his thoughts on the conclusion of his career and outlined some ideas for his ultimate match. Copeland expressed his initial mindset when joining AEW, emphasizing the joy of concluding his career alongside close friends in the industry, including his lifelong best friend, Christian Cage, and the FTR guys. He mentioned the excitement and his early conceptualization of the finale.

Reflecting on his vision, Copeland stated, “I walked into this thinking this is where I’m ending my career. I’m ending it with some of my best friends in the industry… it’s really nice. And, again, really exciting. In my mind, I already have ideas for the end.”

He shared that the conclusion doesn’t necessarily have to be triumphant, considering he has already experienced such moments. The choice of his final opponent may not be Christian, as initially assumed, as Copeland mentioned, “I don’t know if it’s Christian anymore.”

In an ideal scenario, Copeland envisions the significance of the location, expressing a desire to have his final match at Maple Leaf Gardens. He even entertained the thought of starting an indie event for a day to make it happen, emphasizing the importance of returning to the place where he first witnessed live wrestling.
