AEW Full Gear results: MJF retains World Title in a gutsy performance

 

 

AEW World Heavyweight Champion MJF in a match against. Jay White took place at the Full Gear 2023 pay-per view event that was held in Los Angeles, Canfora at the Kia Forum. In the evening The Gunns assaulted MJF following his ROH Tag Team Title match in the pre-show using the aid of a chair, which caused MJF to be taken into the hospital. Adam Cole prevented White from winning the title through an unconstitutional forfeit. Despite being on crutches, he stated that the he would go up against White in order to protect the championship.

The match began, MJF drove the ambulance to the arena, and then walked towards the ring wearing the quad taped. White was right behind the quad. The Gunns were involved at the ringside and were kicked off the ring, but MJF came back with Kangaroo Kick. MJF attempted to dive and White pulled his leg. They fought until the floor, where MJF was hit with the floor with a DDT. They had planned to perform an announcement table spot however, the table fell apart. MJF moved onto the high rope and landed one elbow drop. White was able to smash from the rope’s top to score 2. MJF tried to use the heat seeker however, White took him down. MJF leapt across the rope and cut with a cutting tools down to floor. MJF followed right after the quad and locked into his figure-four leg lock. Cole attempted to strike White by using his ROH Tag Team Title, however, White was able to get the title as well and slammed MJF with it, resulting in an almost fall. There was an official bump. White received his diamond engagement ring back from Cole However, MJF struck White with a slap. The Gunns appeared however, and MJF set them free by removing the diamonds ring. MJF struck White using the ring to win the victory.
