AEW star files trademark for ring name

Killswitch also known as Luchas urus the real name of Austin Matel son, has locked down his ring’s name.

The name

The AEW wrestler had lawyer Michael Dockins file the trademark with the USPTO for the purpose of entertainment and merchandise services on November 25. Here’s the full description:

“Mark for: KILLSWITCH(tm) trademark registration is designed to cover the categories of hats, shirts Bandanas, Shirts, short-sleeved shirts, Sweatshirts and Hooded sweatshirts.”

After making his debut in the industry in 20009 and being a part of WWE from 2012 until in 2014, under his Judas Devlin brand, the wrestler then worked in the independent circuit, including an appearance with Lucha Underground from 2016 to 2019 under the name Viora. Then, he joined AEW in the year 2019, and the team was Jurassic Express with Jack Perry and Marko Stunt.

Recent successes

He became a to heel during Jungle Boy as well as being then paired together with Christian Cage in 2022. In June of this year, on the premier episode of Collision Luchas urus defeated Wardlow to take home the TNT Championship before losing it to Cage in the triple threat match which comprised Darby Allin.

In the November 22 episode on Dynamite, Cage renamed him Killswitch that is the same as Cage’s final fight.
