MJF isn’t departing for WWE?

AEW

There was a point in time when AEW World Heavyweight champion MJF exaggerated on the idea that the terms of his AEW contract was set to expire at the beginning of 2024. He could then switch to AEW to WWE depending on which one offered him the largest amount of cash.

In recent months, and especially after his babyface turn, MJF has cut back on speculation about the status of his contract.

The report

Nick Hausman of Haus of Wrestling said that he had heard from a variety of WWE sources that believe that MJF has been quietly signed with AEW and one high-ranking WWE source saying that there are “zero talks” between the two parties.

The source believes the notion about MJF going into “free agency soon” is “false story” and that they believe he has re-signed into 2027.” A source told me that it was entirely in MJF’s head narrative.

“1000%,” another WWE source claimed. “I was told a while ago he is under a long-term deal, which is why they stopped pushing the 2024 stuff.”

MJF kept his World Heavyweight Title over Jay White at Full Gear on Saturday night.
