AEW’s plans for the Continental Classic tournament

Eddie Kingston announced his entry into the inaugural AEW Continental Classic, which begins on Wednesday’s Dynamite and will be telecast during the Full Gear pay-per-view event on Saturday evening. Kingston also announced that he will be putting his ROH World Championship and the NJPW Strong Open weight Title up to be won in each wrestling match he participates in.

Additionally, he announced that the winner of the tournament will be “the “Triple Crown Champion” with the launch into the newly created Continental Championship. Mark Briscoe, Andrade El Idola as well as Bryan Danielson have also declared for the tournament. The winner of the match gets three points while draw winners make each wrestler who participates who participates in the event one point.

AEW president Tony Khan later noted during the Full Gear media scrum that the winner of the Continental Classic would become one champion, which would be winning the Triple Crown Championship.
