The good news is that he will not miss any shows or plans to undergo surgery to repair his labrum tear, which that he revealed on Monday. He’s scheduled to continue for a defense of his World Heavyweight Title against Samoa Joe at Worlds End next month. In an interview on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer pointed out that MJF is still suffering great pain with his hip.

“The swelling is down on his hip, but the pain is not down,” Meltzer said. “He’s hurting on the hip. The shoulder is, I guess, the more serious of the two.”

Meltzer said that MJF was in the exact tear when he wrestled Jack Perry at Double or Nothing in 2020.

“But this tear is worse than that one, so it’s a pretty big tear,” Meltzer told reporters. “But guys work on torn labrums all the time.”
