WWE has been awestruck by Dragon Lee since he signed with them because they believe that he is a huge talent and is the future Rey Mysterio, so they swiftly moved him to NXT’s main roster NXT and put him in a strong position to WWE’s main roster.
The construction
WWE removed him from television in the last few weeks on SmackDown following reports that Mysterio was in a relationship by Santos Escobar and other members of the LWO including Carlito in the last few days. Escobar was able to turn heel when he fought Mysterio and is likely to be out for several weeks because of the surgery.
Lee Vs. Escobar took place at the WWE Survivor Series premium live event that took place in Chicago, IL, at the Allstate Arena, with Escobar winning the match for singles.
As reported previously There has been discussion about calling in Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo to join Escobar on the show. Carlito was ejected off in the Survivor Series match on Friday’s SmackDown after Escobar hit him by threatening Lee insisting that he be placed into the match.
Original plans
In an interview in Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer pointed out that Lee was always scheduled to be part of the match, but not Carlito regardless of the match being declared.
“They performed an injury angle that night prior that was originally Carlito however they always planned end up being Dragon Lee. The plan is to be forming an all-three-man team. That will be Rey as he comes back from knee surgery, which will be two months. What’s it like? I would guess two months, since it was arthroscopic surgery only and it was Rey, Carlito, and Dragon Lee on one side and the other side would be Escobar and other people.”
