The trajectory of Becky Lynch’s wrestling career could have been vastly different had she chosen to align with a rival promotion upon her relocation to America.

In a recent interview on The MMA Hour, Lynch unveiled a pivotal moment from her past, disclosing that she came close to joining TNA at the age of 19. She cited TNA’s more progressive treatment of female wrestlers as a driving factor behind her consideration.

Reflecting on her mindset during that time, Lynch revealed, “At 19, I was on the verge of moving to America to pursue personal training in Orlando. I entertained the idea of venturing into TNA because of their commendable treatment of women wrestlers, which stood in stark contrast to WWE.”

However, her aspirations were momentarily derailed by a series of setbacks, including injuries and personal challenges, prompting her to step away from wrestling for seven years.

Lynch eventually found her way back to the squared circle, signing with WWE in April 2013. Since then, she has played a pivotal role in the “women’s revolution” that reshaped the landscape of women’s wrestling in 2015.

With an impressive list of accolades, including holding every women’s championship across WWE’s brands, Lynch has solidified her place as a WWE Grand Slam Champion.

During the interview, Lynch also offered insights into her current WWE contract, revealing that she is approaching its expiration. Looking ahead, she acknowledged being closer to the twilight of her wrestling career than its dawn, hinting at potential transitions in the near future.

As excitement mounts for WrestleMania 40, where Lynch is slated to go head-to-head with Rhea Ripley for the WWE World Women’s Championship on April 6 & 7, fans eagerly anticipate the next chapter in her remarkable journey.
