With Kazuchika Okada’s tenure at New Japan Pro Wrestling coming to a close, the wrestling world is abuzz with speculation regarding his next destination as he enters free agency.

Insider reports from Fightful Select suggest a strong likelihood of Okada opting for AEW once he fulfills his obligations with New Japan Pro Wrestling, igniting excitement among fans.

Despite the prevailing momentum towards AEW, there remains a segment of fans who hold onto hopes of Okada signing with WWE.

In a recent interview with Tokyo Sports, Bryan Danielson, representing AEW, shared his thoughts on Okada’s upcoming free agency. He expressed his eagerness for Okada to embrace the AEW platform, acknowledging Okada’s global stature as an elite talent:

“Of course I want him to come to AEW. Fans all over the world know how great Okada is. Both WWE and AEW are major players, but I hope he comes to AEW.”

Commenting on the potential scenario of Okada starting his WWE journey in NXT before transitioning to the main roster, Bryan Danielson dismissed the idea, underscoring Okada’s preparedness for the American wrestling landscape:

“If he went to WWE, they might have him start with (third brand) NXT like Shinsuke (Nakamura) to adapt to the American style, but it’s already completed. Okada doesn’t need that. He’s one of the best wrestlers in the world right now, so he should just come to the United States without changing anything.”

Their recent encounter at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 saw Kazuchika Okada emerging victorious against Bryan Danielson, fueling speculation about their potential convergence in different wrestling promotions.
