The return according to Punk stated, will not be happening at WrestleMania 40 on April. This was confirmed by the wrestler himself on the 29th of January show on WWE Raw.

At the start of the show last evening’s WWE Raw, Drew McIntyre admitted that he prayed that the injury would not occur with pride that he was able to expel the demon out of his locker.

As the pair are expected to meet in the near future Dave Meltzer has shed light on a snag in the plans for Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:

“I believe that September is a decent time to return (for Punk). It was fascinating, and particularly because they arranged the major aspect in the fight with Drew McIntyre tonight to be his opponent when he returns and Drew McIntyre’s contract has expired. contract until April. The situation has not changed. That really surprised me.”

There was a previous report that McIntyre had not signed the new contract due to his current contract due to expire following WrestleMania.

It was initially planned to conclude at the beginning of 2024. However, the delay because of absences in the past pushes it back up to just WrestleMania in the early part of April.

In the story, it’s revealed it was noted that in Endeavor, WWE has been managing contract negotiations according to the order they were scheduled to expire, but there was no specific mention of which specific place Drew McIntyre is on that list.

WWE have made available the complete CM Punk segment from last night’s Raw on YouTube and it is available below the news story.

The episode features Drew McIntyre making his feelings about Punk evident before he went after the star who was injured, and focusing at his arms.
