During the WWE NXT episode on January 16, a compelling 20-woman battle royal took center stage to decide who would face Lyra Valkyria at Vengeance Day.

Before the intense battle royal commenced, somber news was shared, confirming that Cora Jade had suffered a torn ACL.

Commentary provided the unfortunate detail that Cora Jade’s expected recovery time would span “up to a year.”

Another noticeable absence from the match, without a clear explanation, was Nikkita Lyons. Despite being initially featured on the match graphic, Lyons did not participate in the actual showdown.

Jade and Lyons were among the 18 women initially announced for the match last week, but as of earlier today, changes were evident in the lineup.

Three new additions to the graphic and participants in the match were Adriana Rizzo, Jakara Jackson, and Thea Hail, who were not part of the initial announcement.

This adjustment brought the total participants to 19, leaving room for one mystery entrant, later revealed to be Wren Sinclar, formerly known as indie wrestler Madi Wrenkowski.

In Sinclar’s debut, she made a notable impact by eliminating fan favorite Lash Legend before facing her own elimination, just before the match reached its final four.

The last contenders standing were Fallon Henley, Kiana James, Roxanne Perez, and Kelani Jordan, with Perez emerging as the ultimate victor.

Roxanne Perez is now poised to challenge Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Championship at Vengeance Day on February 4.
