Dolph Ziggler (Nic Nemeth) Shares Insights on WWE Departure

A former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler was one of the latest group of WWE talent cuts on September 21st and was perhaps the most shocking name.

Following the expiration date of the non-compete clause Ziggler has since made a return to the sport, presenting as his real name Nic Nemeth with Ryan, his twin brother Ryan in NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 18 event on January 4.

The show featured Nemeth was a target for the new first-time IWGP Global Champion David Finlay and got into an altercation with Finlay who was reportedly preparing his first fight in NJPW.

After his return to wrestling, Nemeth appeared on Busted Open Radio, Nemeth broke his silence about his WWE release, and also how Nemeth was able to prepare himself to leave.

He explained:

“I was ready. In the past one, six, or ten months I’ve thought, ‘At some point, I’ll have to change my mind here. Once you’re prepared to go out and watch you’re not going to take part involved in an PPV match, and then steal the show. You’re not going to be in a match lasting six minutes to make a splash. There’s a game which lasts 3 minutes and you’re not given an entry and everyone knows who’s winning. Do I have a way to make that work?

“Once it started to happen a few years ago, while Roode [Bobby Roode as well as I started tagging each other, I thought”At some point, I’ll need to be prepared to go. Is my body and stamina remain the same? I’ve been working for a long time and getting everything prepared, but it was never “What? What should I do? I’m now free.”I was planning for the majority of this last contract I know that at the time, I’m paid a lot more than I should to stay at home, so I’ll need to leave this.’

“I often wanted to have prepared to go for the event that they asked”I am aware that you’ve been playing 90-second matches, could you complete 30 minutes of The Undertaker?’ And you’re sure I could. I was ready in any case, I just wanted to be prepared with every option at hand. It was not out of the sudden. I had emailed the boss in the past few months asking, ‘I must move to a different place, will you allow me to do this?’

“Eventually without any precise back and forth that’s how it all worked out. It was not a big deal because it was that it was six, eight, 10 months later, it was”Here it comes. And now I’m sitting here for 90 days of sitting around and it was heartbreaking However, I’ve been given additional training.”
