Finn Balor and Damian Priest of The Judgment Day retained their Undisputed Tag Team Championships in the main event of “WWE Raw,” defeating Julius and Brutus Creed in a back and forth match. They Creed Brothers earned their shot at the title by winning an Tag Team Turmoil Match last month, on an episode on “Raw,” defeating New Day, Indus Sher, DIY, Imperium, and Alpha Academy. Rhea Ripley as well as Ivy Nile accompanied their respective teams to the ring when it was announced that they would face one another in “WWE Raw: Day 1.”
Julius and Balor began the fight, but it quickly went downhill with the four men in the arena. The Creeds took the lead in The Judgment Day as the broadcast returned from commercials, however Priest returned to control with a throw of Julius into the steps of steel and the ring by sending Brutus to the stage. The Creeds continued to fight against the other teams with a flurry of offense as they tried to take on their final move The Brutus Ball. In one instance, Ripley tried to snare Nile on the outside however, Nile took Ripley on her shoulders and threw her face-first into arena apron, causing a distraction for Balor. The Creeds eventually managed to land the Brutus Ball however, Balor struck the ring with his Coup De Grace, breaking off a pin attempt by Priest who was successful in hitting Julius using South of Heaven and pin him to win.
This was the first attempt at the main roster gold for the Creeds who were champions of tag teams on “WWE NXT” — the commentary firmly positioned them as tag champions in the future despite losing. Priest and Balor are, however, currently are defending three times during their second stint following their victory in titles in the Undisputed tag team title to Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes in October.
