In an exclusive interview with WrestlingNews.co, Steve Fall had another opportunity to speak with WWE Intercontinental Champion Gunther ahead of his title defense at Survivor Series against The Miz. Survivor Series takes place on Saturday, November 25, at the Chicago’s Allstate Arena and will air live on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network in several international markets.

The interview touched on a variety of topics including a possible fight to Undisputed Universal Champion Roman Reigns as well as the reasons the reasons why Gunther thinks he’s outgrown his IC Title, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, and many other subjects.

Gunther’s thoughts about past WWE Intercontinental Champions

Gunther has made some remarks regarding WWE’s The Bump about The Ultimate Warrior with regards to Warrior being an “showman” and “not a professional wrestler.” But Gunther did give the acknowledgment to other past champions, including Razor Ramon and Mr. Perfect (he said he was “elite”), and Jeff Jarrett. Gunther admitted that he’s seen Jarrett at least once and explained more about the reasons he loves Jarrett.

“I think he’s one of the smartest guys in the sport because we have 2023 and he’s still in a very good position at another company and I think having a career that long and being in all kinds of positions this business has to offer. Yeah, congratulations to that career. You really figured it out.”

The Rock is the new Hulk Hogan

The Rock has recently appeared to one of Friday Night SmackDown in a segment featuring Grayson Waller. He’s been in the news this week, giving interviews, and some have compared his appearance with Hulk Hogan. Gunther believes the same and has classified him as an entertainer.
