Hiromu Takahashi’s NJPW Journey Continues: Contract Renewal Confirmed
In the midst of a transformative phase for New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) in 2024, there’s a beacon of stability and excitement for fans as Hiromu Takahashi, the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, has officially re-signed with the promotion.
On January 29, Tokyo Sports broke the news that Takahashi committed to NJPW, finalizing the deal at the New Japan offices on a Monday. Despite attempts by Tokyo Sports’ Yusuke Okamoto to gather insights from Takahashi post-signing, the enigmatic star chose to keep his interactions minimal. Okamoto’s translation reveals Hiromu’s succinct confirmation of the contract renewal, stating, “I signed a contract!” – a testament to his dedication to NJPW.
Reflecting on recent events, the loss to El Desperado at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4 marked a turning point. However, Takahashi is poised to return to the ring in a singles match against DOUKI at NJPW New Beginning in Sapporo on February 24.
Amidst the departures and changes in NJPW’s landscape, Hiromu Takahashi’s decision to extend his contract adds a layer of excitement and continuity for fans, sparking anticipation for the unfolding chapters of his wrestling journey.
