Jake The Snake Roberts Doesn't Hold Back: 'F*** No' to Vince Russo's WWE Hall of Fame Hopes

Legendary wrestler Jake “The Snake” Roberts was admitted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014, which means he has some knowledge of the requirements to be considered an elite group.

He does not believe Vince Russo belongs and expressed this in the “Snake Pit” podcast when asked whether Vince Russo, the previous WWE head writer should be given an honorary induction.

“Okay, next question,” Roberts responded with a laugh. “F**k no … My dead dog had better ideas than he did.”

Russo began his career at WWE as freelance writer for WWF Magazine in 1992. After his promotion to the position of Editor, Russo became part of the WWE’s creative team in 1996.

The move coincided with “WCW Nitro” regularly defeating “WWE Raw” in the Monday night ratings battle. Russo’s selection was instrumental in the beginning of the Attitude Era and storylines such as the “Stone Cold” Steve Austin-Vince McMahon rivalry.

He was eventually promoted to head writer and then resign along with fellow teammate Ed Ferrara to WCW in 1999 following a disagreement with WWE’s then Chairman McMahon.

Russo left WWE after turning the tide of the battle for ratings, however Russo as well as Ferrara could not stop the decline of WCW.

The company was ultimately bought by McMahon and WWE in 2001. Later, he would compose for the TNA Impact Wrestling. Russo recently stated that he could not stay for all day working for WWE today.
