Latest Developments in the Swerve Strickland vs. Keith Lee AEW Feud

Despite the cancellation of their anticipated match at AEW Worlds End, the ongoing exchange of words between Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee remains unabated.

Following AEW Worlds End, where Swerve Strickland seemingly ‘injured’ Dustin Rhodes in their relatively brief yet intense match, he delivered a message directed at his intended opponent.

In a last-minute adjustment to the card, made several hours before showtime, Keith Lee was sidelined, citing being ‘medically uncleared’ to compete. Rhodes stepped in as his replacement.

In a backstage clip, Swerve voiced his refusal to tolerate his ‘time being wasted’ waiting for a match against Keith Lee. He derided Lee’s injury and pointed out that Lee failed to board his flight despite Swerve’s invitation to face him in Long Island.

While Swerve declared his pursuit of the AEW World Championship, Keith Lee promptly responded on Twitter, making it clear that he was present but was pulled by ‘Doc.’

Lee’s tweet in response to the posted clip by AEW reads:

“1 leg… 2 legs … irrelevant. Ask Cage. I was there. You saw me. Just because Doc pulled me does not make you safe.

“You may be chosen…. but I’m real. Wherever the next meeting happens, I swear to God you will regret every syllable.

“… That’s a promise little homie.”

Despite Swerve Strickland appearing to consider his feud with Keith Lee concluded, the same sentiment does not seem to hold true for Lee.

If Swerve Strickland aspires to clinch the AEW World Championship in 2024, he may find himself on a direct collision course with Samoa Joe. Samoa Joe secured a victory over MJF in the main event of AEW Worlds End, capturing the AEW World Championship.
