Despite the gap between his AEW departure and NXT debut, Pillman Jr. wasted no time and found himself at the WWE Performance Center shortly after leaving AEW.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Lexis King characterized the move to WWE as more of a necessary transition than a decision. “I mean, it wasn’t so much of a decision as it was just a necessary transition,” King explained.

Reflecting on his successful tenure at AEW, King acknowledged the financial gains but expressed concerns about an uncertain future. “When they didn’t re-sign me, it was pretty apparent I wasn’t going to be doing anything there anymore,” King noted.

Expressing gratitude for the proactive efforts of agents and attorneys, King revealed, “I think I got a paycheck from both companies in the same month. That’s how quickly the ball got rolling.”

Recently, Lexis King competed in a match against Dragon Lee for the NXT North American Championship on the January 9 episode of WWE NXT. Currently engaged in a rivalry with Tre Bearhill, King played a role in Bearhill’s removal from the NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament.

In addition to his wrestling endeavors, King shared a behind-the-scenes detail, disclosing the WWE star who facilitated his connection with a barber to maintain his unique look.
