MJF was injured
AEW World Heavyweight Champion of the AEW World Heavyweight MJF had two matches on Saturday night in the AEW Full Gear 2023 pay-per view event that took place from Los Angeles at the Kia Forum.
The Gunns were able to attack MJF following their ROH Tag Team Title match in the pre-show using chairs after losing against MJF along with Samoa Joe. This resulted in MJF being taken to hospital. Adam Cole prevented Jay White from winning the World Heavyweight Title in a forfeit. Despite having crutches on his feet, he stated that he’d take on White to defend his title.
After the match started, MJF showed up and engaged in the match. The final bout saw MJF take out White by the diamond-shaped ring to secure the victory. The choice to include the storyline injury was criticised by fans.
