While Tyler Bate is currently making waves in NXT, his association with Butch dates back to their earlier days, with Butch previously known as Pete Dunne.

Butch faced a challenge from Pretty Deadly and was promised a match if he could find a partner. To everyone’s surprise, Tyler Bate emerged as Butch’s mystery tag team companion, reigniting at least two-thirds of their renowned ‘British Strong Style’ team.

In NXT UK, their trio also included Trent Seven, who has ventured into AEW and IMPACT Wrestling since departing from WWE.

In his WWE SmackDown debut, Tyler Bate secured the victory alongside Butch, executing a double ‘Tyler Driver 97’ to defeat Kit Wilson.

Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE SmackDown New Years Revolution, a pair of familiar faces returned to the ring after an absence of nearly four years.
