Promoted WWE Match Scrapped: Advertised Event Cancelled

Tonight’s SmackDown (January 12) promised a WWE match that never materialized due to a pre-bell attack, altering the course of the scheduled events. The opening bout between Grayson Waller and Cameron Grimes took an unexpected turn.

Waller and his ally Austin Theory had already made their entrance when Cameron Grimes was ambushed by Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa, joined by Paul Heyman. The Bloodline not only took out Grimes but also incapacitated several security guards.

In response, Waller and Theory chose to exit, conceding the ring to the rampaging faction. Heyman, addressing the crowd, shifted blame for the chaos onto Nick Aldis. Summoning the SmackDown GM to the ring, Heyman’s attempt to cancel Roman Reigns’ Fatal Four-Way match at the Royal Rumble was unsuccessful.

Instead, Aldis announced a main event featuring Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight against Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa, and Roman Reigns. Heyman doubted Reigns’ presence in Nebraska, but Aldis asserted that the Bloodline had the authority to decide. Declining would turn the main event into a 3-on-2 handicap match.

After the commercial break, the match was listed with question marks regarding the partners. When Jimmy Uso inquired about their teammate, Heyman revealed that the entire locker room had sought to join the Bloodline, and he would find a suitable partner. Solo Sikoa, unperturbed, confidently stated, “I never worry.”
