Efforts are reportedly underway to exclude Vince McMahon from the upcoming WWE 2K24 video game set to release in early March.

On January 25, a lawsuit alleging sexual trafficking and abuse hit McMahon, leading to his resignation from WWE parent company TKO. The WWE has been swift in distancing itself from McMahon, removing his profile from public view on the official roster page.

It appears that McMahon’s involvement in other WWE-related projects is also being reconsidered. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the challenges faced:

“They’re trying to find a way to eliminate him from the video game, a task that may prove challenging. And they’re probably trying to figure out a way to erase him from history, which is completely impossible.”

Brock Lesnar’s recent removal from the WWE 2K Supercard mobile game added to the ongoing developments. The lawsuit involved unnamed parties, including one referred to as “WWE Superstar,” a former UFC Heavyweight Champion negotiating with WWE during the alleged events.

Despite Brock Lesnar not being directly named in the lawsuit, the Wall Street Journal reported that the person referred to as WWE Superstar was Lesnar. This revelation resulted in WWE revising creative plans, sidelining Lesnar from the Royal Rumble match on January 27 and WrestleMania in early April.

Reports suggest that Lesnar might face downplay or removal from 2K projects and other licensee products. However, as of now, there’s no official confirmation regarding Lesnar’s status in the WWE 2K24 video game set for release in early March. As of February 1, Lesnar remains featured on the official WWE 2K website, specifically on the cover of the 40 Years of WrestleMania edition.

At the time of writing, Lesnar is still listed as a current ‘Superstar’ on wwe.com official roster page, while Vince McMahon’s profile, removed from public view on January 26, continues to generate speculation.
