REPORT: Tony Khan’s relationship with QT Marshall was damaged after the removal of QTV segments

This was the reason for the decline.

QT Marshall has previously announced his resignation QT Marshall had previously announced his departure from All Elite Wrestling, noting that he was planning to finish this year by being promoted before stepping down from his position within the company as Vice President for talent and creativity.

As we’ve reported previously there were people who knew that this was going on for weeks, while others were aware of it over a period of months and some were unaware of his plans to quit. He was unhappy with his job at the company because he believed the possibility of becoming a celebrity instead of being coach or player.

The report

Wrestle Purists reports that there are many different views and opinions about how the show should be portrayed who are in AEW. Marshall was one of the key voices championing a more entertainment-based approach to wrestling TV, and he leans on the characters/entertainment approach because he can contribute on screen in that regard.

Marshall wasn’t a fan of certain changes in AEW creative direction to the point that he believed that the company was not telling compelling stories in the way they used to. He also does not believe that staging amazing matches without a narrative or structure is the best way to go about it. which is how NJPW is doing.

The rift

In the spring of this year, in the year of Collision, Marshall made some appearances on the show during QTV segments The idea did not last for long.

The report stated, “According to people in AEW, CM Punk didn’t desire for Marshall to be component of Collision and didn’t view QTV as an effective element in Powerhouse Hobbs’ presentation. Tony Khan took the blame/fall for the elimination of QTV segments that ultimately hurt the relationship between Khan and Marshall.”

This led to the relationship to fracture, since Marshall believed there was no understanding of the reason why segments were cut. Marshall believed Punk was the one who removed Marshall from the show and was not convinced by Khan who tried to claim the blame. Marshall was loved by the viewers who watched AEW.
