The WWE universe received unfortunate news as Shotzi, a beloved star, shared her sentiments on missing out on her Elimination Chamber opportunity due to an injury setback.
During the February 13 episode of WWE NXT, Shotzi, representing SmackDown, fearlessly challenged NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria to a title bout slated for the following week.
However, fate intervened as Shotzi suffered a knee injury during the post-live show filming, requiring her to take a hiatus from in-ring action for recovery.
Originally scheduled to face Tiffany Stratton on the February 16 edition of SmackDown, Shotzi’s absence led to Nick Aldis announcing Zelina Vega as her replacement in the match.
Ahead of the show, Shotzi took to social media to express her regret at missing the match and the opportunity to showcase her skills at Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia. Her post read:
I don’t have much to say right now other than I am devastated. It’s heartbreaking to be missing my Elimination Chamber opportunity tonight. But I just wanted to wish all the women competing good luck. I’ll open up more about how I’m feeling and my injury later. @WWE
Tonight’s SmackDown will also feature another Women’s Elimination Chamber qualifier, with Naomi returning to singles competition against Alba Fyre.
