Tony Khan Takes MJF Off AEW Roster

Some speculation has surrounded the future of Samoa Joe, after MJF dropped the AEW World Title to him at World’s End in December 2023. However, it was previously established that his contract will expire on the 1st of January.

MJF is no longer listed on the AEW roster due to uncertainty regarding his future.

Tony Khan, who appeared on News4JAX’s Going Ringside, praised MJF. He also stated that he would be happy to have MJF appear on AEW TV.

Khan, when asked about MJF not being on the roster page said:

“I think MJF played a major role in AEW’s first five years. During the first five years he certainly was one of our homegrown superstars…and he is somebody we really appreciate. I would love to bring MJF back into AEW if contract conditions allowed.

“We would love to see MJF as an AEW moving forward. And he has been a champion and a fantastic wrestler for our team.

Despite recent reports indicating that MJF’s removal from the AEW page was part and parcel of a storyline it will be a little while before we are able to see the former AEW World Champion again in the ring.

MJF is currently dealing a number of injuries. The most serious is his shoulder injury.
