Tony Khan’s Report on WWE Talks and Warner Bros Discovery Discussions

AEW President Tony Khan has responded to recent reports regarding talks between Warner Bros Discovery and WWE. Warner Brothers Discovery (WBD) currently possesses TBS and TNT, the networks airing AEW’s Dynamite, Rampage, and Collision shows.

In December 2023, before WWE finalized a new TV rights deal for Raw, there were reports of meetings between top WWE figures, including Triple H, and WBD executives. These reports have fueled speculation about the potential relocation of WWE’s Raw to a WBD-owned network.

During an interview on Going Ringside with News4Jax, Tony Khan expressed confidence in AEW’s relationship with WBD as they approach the renewal of their own TV rights. Regarding WWE and WBD being in contact, Khan acknowledged the commonplace nature of such discussions in the sports industry:

“It’s part of sports. I think everybody discusses contracts and free agency and things of that nature. I think everybody is aware that everybody is going to be talking to everybody in media this coming year. There will be certainly a lot of opportunities. We’ve had a great history with Warner Brothers Discovery and continue to produce great ratings. We’ll be in a very good position next year.”
