WWE hosted 2 NXT live events at the end of Friday-on-Friday night in Lakeland, FL, and Orlando, FL, on Saturday night. On both nights, there was an interesting person performing on both shows.
WWE Raw star Xia Li was seen on the shows, reverting in her hometown. Li joined WWE in 2017and she was a part of at the Mae Young Classic tournament that year, and also in the year 2018. Li took part in for the female Royal Rumble match in 2019 prior to her NXT TV debut a couple of months after.
In November of 2020 Li was in a vignette alongside Boa and Ying, in which they were joined by an unknown woman named Mei Ying (the now Wendy Choo). The feud ended in The in Your House event with Mercedes Martinez before Li was selected to SmackDown in the month of October 2021. This separated her with Boa along with Ying. Li was then moved into WWE Raw in the 2023 Draft.
In Saturday’s NXT house show on Friday, Li fell to NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria and the following day, Li joined forces alongside Kiana James to defeat Karmen Petrovic and Valkyria.
The incident comes after she was adamant about Valkyria during the Tuesday night’s NXT in which she stated she wanted the title for women.
