Lyra Valkyria Reflects on Roxanne Perez’s Intensity and Champions Her Role Ahead of Vengeance Day

WWE NXT Women’s Champion, Lyra Valkyria, recently shared insights into the shifting attitude of her upcoming opponent, Roxanne Perez. Despite Perez being a former NXT Women’s Champion, she lost her title in a six-woman ladder match during last year’s NXT Stand & Deliver.

In recent appearances, Roxanne Perez has demonstrated a noticeable increase in aggression as she strives to reclaim her former championship. Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Lyra Valkyria emphasized that she is not underestimating Perez’s heightened intensity.

“It’s something I’ve taken very seriously. There’s a clear change in Roxanne since losing the title and having to rebound from that loss. You can see a distinct difference in her demeanor. She’s become more aggressive, and what she did to Arianna Grace a few weeks ago was a level of violence from Roxanne that I hadn’t witnessed before. So, that’s definitely a concern heading into Vengeance Day,” Valkyria conveyed.

Additionally, Valkyria discussed her own journey, expressing a sense of maturity and veteran status since holding the NXT Women’s Championship. She acknowledged the fierce competition and the potential threats, such as Lola Vice, who eyes her title with a contract in hand.

“I feel seasoned and battle-tested; there’s intense competition. There are individuals ready to betray me for a shot at my title. Lola Vice is holding a contract, and she’s not one to be trifled with. So, I’ve had to step up my game, become more focused, and approach my role with greater responsibility as the champion,” Valkyria stated.

WWE NXT Vengeance Day is slated to be live on Peacock this Sunday, February 4, 2024.
