WWE’s original idea for the split of the LWO

This is exactly what WWE originally had in mind.

WWE

The LWO has split due because of the heel-turning Santos Escobar due to his assault upon Rey Mysterio, designed to record the Hall of Famer off of WWE television while he struggles recovering from an injury that required to be repaired surgically.

The prelude

Mysterio was in alignment by Santos Escobar and other members of the LWO and even Carlito in the last few days. But, Mysterio had a disagreement with Escobar because he believed Mysterio was aligned with Carlito, and he rebuked the wrestler on an episode of SmackDown.

Mysterio is likely to remain sidelined for a couple of weeks as a result of the operation. In this Saturday’s Survivor Series, Carlito will try to take revenge on Escobar during a singles game.

The concept

In the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer said that the split was initially planned for Escobar to join Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro instead of Escobar fighting his tag group.

Meltzer wrote “Regarding Meltzer’s comments on the LWO separation, the initial concept consisted of Wilde & Del Toro to remain with Escobar and fight Rey & Carlito & a third party.”

Meltzer suggested, based on the things WWE have done to him in TV It would make sense to Dragon Lee to be the person that WWE believes Lee could become an alternative to Mysterio with the intention to come up with a plan to convince Mysterio to sign a contract with him.

Meltzer added, “The Garzas are the ones scheduled to take over Wilde & Del Toro on the Escobar side. There is speculation about Lopez who was on Escobar in NXT as well, being on the side of Vega However, this is not confirmed.”
