Randy Orton vs. LA Knight vs. AJ Styles was the main event on SmackDown’s January 5 episode to determine Reigns next opponent.

This match didn’t end up with a winner, as Roman Reigns (the match’s main competitor), Solo Sikoa, and Jimmy Uso attacked each other, leading to the match being thrown.

Nick Aldis was the winner, as he gave Paul Heyman a task to tell Reigns about his upcoming match against Orton and Styles for the Royal Rumble premium Live event.

WWE shared an exclusive digital video of Reigns’ reaction to the news. While the show had ended before Heyman was able to share the news with Reigns on air, WWE has since released the video.

Paul Heyman, after Reigns and he had returned to backstage, informed Reigns that Nick Aldis made the decision.

Reigns looked angry before snatching Heyman’s WWE Undisputed Universal Title.

The Tribal Leader then asked his wise man to rectify the situation before storming off.

Reigns won the Crown Jewel live premium event in 2023 on November 4th, beating LA Knight.
